VENICE'S QUIRKY ARCHITECTURE
This project focussed on Venice's quirky architecture and details seen in the brickwork. My print designs reflect the busy atmosphere I experienced through layering a range of architectural shapes in Venice's interesting building colours. I worked on both paper and fabric, exploring layered colours, transparency, flock, and taking the colours back out with discharge to reveal the details of whats underneath. As well as my busy geometric collection, I was inspired by the brickwork. I re-created the brick details through using found bricks in which I painted with print paste and stamped onto my screen for the breakdown printing process. This process created a unique effect, with each brick printing different details.
